SEVEN FISH TREE

On a pleasant fall day in 2013, Rod Travis, a retired Atlanta police captain, encounters two miracles that will ultimately alter the lives of every being on earth. Beware of the questions asked; for the first time, they will be answered. Can mankind handle the ultimate truths? Time may tell.

THE YELLOW BUS BOYS

Within ten short days in 1964, a young boy’s life changed forever on his first vacation. Ronnie Shaw, a 6th-grader from the inner-city projects of Atlanta, climbed aboard the big yellow bus with thirty-three other boys for the vacation of a lifetime filled with laughter, tears, and tragedy.

In 1964, Ronnie Shaw is a recent graduate from the sixth grade with perfect attendance for the school year. Due to their perfect attendance, he and thirty-three other boys have won an all-expenses-paid vacation through The Warren Memorial Boys’ Club of Atlanta, sponsored by McDonald’s Hamburgers and The Lion’s Club. They will act as McDonald’s Hamburgers’ “Official Taste Testers” during their journey around Florida. For a few on the bus, this is their first vacation. Two adults and four teenage chaperones guide these young men on the greatest, wildest vacation ever. Most of the boys aren’t from the projects like Ronnie and his older brother, Mike, who is a chaperone. Travel with these young boys and men back to 1964; laugh and cry with them as they experience life at its best and, at times, rawest. Climb aboard the big, yellow bus; experience why and how lives can change in a mere ten days. For at least one of The Yellow Bus Boys there will be plenty of dramatic turns within the Sunshine State.

TRANSMUTATION: THE LIFE OF A TWISTED COP

What external and internal forces combine to create the perfect storm that causes a human being to become twisted? This is not a rhetorical question. Ron Shaw was molded into such a twisted boy and man. Look inside his life. Go back with Ron to the hell of his youth, the conflicts as a young man, and the desire to survive as an Atlanta police officer. Witness the struggles in graphic detail that hopefully made him into a better human being. What you will read, and with Ron Shaw live in words, is raw, rough, rude, deadly, and real. The stories contained from page one until the last typed word are precisely what transforms a man or any person into a twisted being in search of their humanity.

MARY’S TRUNK

Do you believe it’s possible to own, purchase, communicate, and come to know a ghost?

Ron Shaw does. He bought and paid for his own ghost Mary, on a crisp fall day in 2013, never having sought such a find, as he bunked and junked his way through the flea markets and garage sales of his native Atlanta, Georgia.

Warm, witty, and down to earth, you will find yourself entranced by this unique collection of stories and observations, replete with a full measure of Southern ambiance and hospitality.

MARY’S JOURNEY BEGINS

Would you believe a man and his ghost? Ron Shaw does, and what a story his Mary has shared with him!

I slept like the dead, he begins their tale – motionless and pinned down. It felt great, but as soon as sleep enveloped me, the dream began. No one could’ve prepared me for what was to come next.

Dusty rooms, indentured servitude, even a bat in the attic, all conspire as they draw Mary towards the inevitable.

Internationally recognized author and host of The Ron Shaw Show on ArtistFirst Radio Network, Ron has done it again, weaving fear, joy, and even love into a story you won’t soon forget.

MARY’S JOURNEY CONTINUES

Do you believe in ghosts? Ron Shaw does, because one named Mary entered his life with a story from the crypt that had to be told, and Mary has plenty to divulge.

Shadows of Mary and Mr. Dickens dance in the flickering flame of a single candle, as her tale unfolds.

An evil guardian, a bat in the attic, an untrustworthy poet, and a wealthy young lawyer all drive Ron’s ghost as she strives to escape the shackles that bind her.

Internationally recognized author and host of The Ron Shaw Show on ArtistFirst Radio Network, Ron has done it again in this second volume of his acclaimed Cramped Quarters series, as he weaves fear, joy, and love into a story you won’t soon forget.

THE YELLOW BUS BOYS GO BLUE: CANADA BOUND

a
banner49

It was a fantastic time to be a teenage boy in America.

In 1967, seventeen, Atlanta, high school boys embarked on an adventure of a lifetime, climbing aboard the little blue bus on a free, ten-day, summer vacation courtesy of the Warren Memorial Boys’ Club. This year’s trip sends them to Montreal, Canada and Expo ’67.

Ronnie “Baby Whale” Shaw of THE YELLOW BUS BOYS is on his fourth such trip with several of his yellow bus boys friends. New characters will emerge during this “summer of love” vacation.

This outreach program was sponsored by the Boy’s Clubs of America, McDonald’s Hamburgers, and the Lions’ Club for local boys who had attained perfect school attendance.

Climb aboard the bus with the boys and their adult chaperones for laughs, tears, and plenty of teenage hijinks as they plunder their way from Atlanta, Georgia to Montreal, Canada and back, hitting all points of interest in between.

They’re a ragtag bunch of rowdy boys who manage to light up every tourist spot along their path. The people, places, and things they encounter will probably, never be the same.

A murder plot is hatched.

Will they all make it home in one piece?

Can the boys handle the pressure on this gantlet of a trip?

Will Niagara Falls claim an Atlanta boy?

Have the bail money handy, and be ready to laugh your primordial tail off.

Experience the metamorphosis as two of the boys are forced to grow into men while enjoying the seedy streets of the French section of Montreal.

The Yellow Bus Boys Go Blue Canada Bound is an excursion of riotous fun!

AROUND THE CAMPFIRE: TWO BADGE TOTER’S TALES

64
banner50

Telling tales around campfires goes back to the beginning of cowboy days and even before. This group of tales differs in that they are told by D.A. Grady, in the comfortable role of a working cowboy, and his friend from Atlanta, Ron Shaw host of The Ron Shaw Show on ArtistFirst Network, who’s been invited to ride with him as D.A. mends fences on a ranch where he works.

Both men bring to this fictional experience an actual law enforcement background, one in the rural West and the other in urban surroundings, providing an unusual twist as they compare true cop stories – the good, the bad and the ugly.

Along the way, the reader is introduced by these two internationally read members of From Gents’ Pens to a variety of unexpected events along the trail, and nights abound with skillfully woven tales, mostly true, that tug at your every emotion. So settle into your sougans, and let the boys top off your mugs as they share with you tales from Around the Campfire.

WITHOUT FROM WITHIN: POEMS BY RON SHAW

a4

After publishing twelve works, from deep within me, the innate urge to express myself in an entirely different manner overtook me.

As far back as I can remember, reading poetry has always been a passion. It may well have been one of the key factors in choosing English Literature as my college major.

This collection is the result of exposing my soul and heart in a way I’d never dreamed of doing so.

While my other works in publication are integral parts of me, I now understand that poetry is the essence of who I was, am, and forever will be.

With the understanding that these are my inaugural offerings and with the compassion to allow a heart without and soul within to falter, I hope you enjoy my poems.

DANS L’ABIME INTERIEUR: POEMES PAR RON SHAW

a7

TraVerses: Poems by Ron Shaw

Poetry commands the singular ability to lay one prostrate and bare before the reader, giving safe refuge to words and thoughts of depth excavated from crevices yet explored deep within the poet. I find no other form of writing to be so utterly and beautifully invasive.

The poems that follow are my second collection of published poetry. My initial traverse into the

purest of all literature, poetry, Without From Within, has surpassed my greatest expectations. It has been well-received. I’m humbled by the praise it continues to garner from readers worldwide. I’m delighted many have found favor with my poems and the photographs contained within the book. I see no reason to alter what has been a successful combination of poetry and photography. Hopefully, each offering will please your senses as well as touch your emotions. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a poem speaks volumes.

I hope you will enjoy TraVerses: Poems by Ron Shaw as well as the photographs presented by my brother-in-law, J. Robert Sosby.

SOUTHERN BREWED POETRY

a5
banner48

Southern Brewed Poetry is Georgia author, Ron Shaw’s third publication of poems. The reader will find them to be unique, at times, quite literary, thought-provoking, and intriguing. As the title indicates, the author has tapped into his Southern roots to brew an eclectic mixture of marvelous poetry certain to capture the imagination, whimsy, heart, and soul of the reader.

Like his earlier poetry books, these poems are interwoven with the superb photography of J. Robert Sosby of Atlanta, Georgia. Rob is the author’s brother-in-law. He possesses a keen, artistic, and discerning eye, reaching beyond his camera, drawing the viewer into his world of serenity and beauty.

Ron and Robert hope you enjoy Southern Brewed Poetry.

PHOTOGRAPHY BY J. ROBERT SOSBY

a3

This presentation is the result of a collaboration between photographer, J. Robert Sosby of Atlanta, Georgia and author, Ron Shaw of Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Ron has used photography by his brother-in-law, Rob, in three of his poetry books, Without From Within: Poems by Ron Shaw, TraVerses: Poems by Ron Shaw, and Southern Brewed Poetry. For the first two books of poems, a photograph by Rob was also chosen for the covers. Ron has also borrowed another for the cover of his novelette entitled J. This publication’s cover will also be created using one of Rob’s photos.

In this book, the author has attempted to present a visually pleasing showcase of his brother-in-law’s fine photography without cluttering beauty with unneeded text.

The reader or viewer will begin to appreciate the photographer’s keen eye and impeccable, artistic vision, capturing nature in its splendor. Rob’s visual voice is subtle yet strong. To Rob, photography is a passion that he continues to pursue, spending countless hours waiting for the perfect sunlight, shade, or position of his subject before snapping the shots. There is a calm presence, possibly an innocence that emanates from his photography.

Simplicity will guide this project. The book’s contents will be divided into sections, such as Flowers, Plants, Landscapes, Trees, etc.

Rob and I hope you enjoy his marvelous photography.

POETRY EAST TO WEST

I’m Georgia author, Ron Shaw.

My good friend, Richard M. Knittle, Jr. of Texas, a multiple-time, No.1 bestselling author, and I present for your enjoyment a new collaborative book of poems and photographs entitled Poetry East To West.

This marvelous project spanning from Texas to Georgia contains incredible poetry and wonderful photographs of nature by Richard M. Knittle, Jr. and Atlanta photographer J. Robert Sosby’s photos of nature and wildlife.

Richard and I present two, very different, and distinct styles of poetry. Richard’s poems mainly concentrate on his personal relationship struggles, his victories, and brutal experiences in life. He writes about what is, what was, and hopefully, what may be. My poems take an entirely different path in an eclectic mix of mental meanderings about many subjects.

In these poems, the reader will find hope, strength, perseverance, love, humor, beauty, and tragedy as a small sampling of themes.

Richard and I are certain that you’ll enjoy and treasure these poems and photographs as much as we do and did in creating them.

NOVELETTES AND SHORT STORIES

This set of four books contains three, seasonal novelettes, The Rebooted, Thanks Giving, Christmas Past: An Angel’s Story, and one short story of love and inspiration entitled J.

The first of the novelettes, almost a novella in length, is a Halloween, horror, science fiction piece entitled The Rebooted.

At dusk, three, loud knocks at her front door scared the young, grief-stricken mother of four – the tale begins on Halloween’s eve, continuing – Huddling around her in front of a solitary space heater, Ann’s three children jumped, startling her even more. For a brief second, they shivered, fearing it was death itself that had come knocking.

Thanks Giving is a warm, humorous, and somewhat tragic Thanksgiving tale.

For one Georgia family, Thanksgiving 2016 looms, ominously.

After their last Thanksgiving together, surviving this one may well depend on a force beyond their control.

Christmas Past: An Angel’s Story is a novelette that will take you back to the 1950s in Atlanta, Georgia where one impoverished family prays for a better life and a real Christmas.

Travel back to 1958 with an angel on a mission to a Christmas Past, as we’re shown a heart-rending story of a destitute family who happiness and Christmas had all but passed over.

J is a contemporary short story with controversial themes of life, death, and rebirth. It’s a love story filled with intrigue, love, hope, and some tragedy.
